BARTONVILLE -- Speed and dirt made for an exciting combination at an annual motorcycle race Sunday.

Up to 15,000 people were expected to converge at the annual Grand National TT Races in Bartonville.

Organizers say the event can be compared to the famous motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.

But they say here, participants also get an exciting show.

"Dirt track is one of the more exciting races you'll have. On a TT, its just short quick and grabs your attention. It's something most people enjoy," said Assistant Race Manager Lee Patridge.

"It's just so exciting to see someone on a motorcycle that can go so fast- like this. And it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of fun people here," said race fan Deowna Neill.

The Peoria Motorcycle Club in Bartonville is where the races were held.

It is home to the oldest continuous dirt track race in the world.
