GROVE, Okla. (AP) - A 4-day motorcycle rally around Grand Lake will include a memorial ride to honor fallen firefighters and law enforcement officers.

Brian Ruth, the publisher of The Chronicle of Grand Lake and the rally's chairman, says the rally will be held from Sept. 11-14, with the "Fallen Heroes Ride" set for the event's opening day.

The ride will begin in Grove and pass through Miami, Vinita, Pryor, Spavinaw and Disney before crossing the Pensacola Dam and ending in Langley.

The ride will include representatives from The Blue Knights and The Red Knights, nationwide organizations of motorcycle riders who are law enforcement officers and firefighters, respectively.

Ruth says the event is meant as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terror attacks, to military members and to local civil servants.

He says about 500 participants are expected.
